Winter 2010

It has almost been a year since my last post. I am restarting the blog again to catalogue my trip to the Beaufort Sea this spring. I have been accepted into Dr. Andrew Derocher’s lab to study as a Masters student at the University of Alberta. In late April I will be heading north for a few weeks on the ice covered seas to study the hunting habits of the polar bear. I will be based in Tuktoyaktuk Northwest Territories for the field season. I am very excited about the opportunity to head north and to immerse myself in the wild again.

My previous posts from Africa are archived on the right side of the web page. I have included a map of the study location and a polar bear video from Polar Bears International with Dr. Derocher on the right.
